Creating an inviting entry way
The first impression of your home is your entry way. It’s the space your guests are welcomed to when they come by to visit; the space that welcomes you after a long day at work; and where your kids drop off their backpacks and muddy shoes after school. Make it something you love and want to come home to! In this blog, we are going to showcase some of our favorite entryways we have worked on.
Entry #1
We left this entry way open and simple. With a staircase that begins close to the door, it was important to make it feel as open as possible. Light colors on the wall with a contrasting dark wood floor; creates a harmonious space for your guests to walk in to.
Entry #2
This is a back entry space. Usually these are found off a garage door or a side door of the house. It is again another simple space that is extremely functional for the family. Built in shelves, drawers, and cabinets create an organized area for everyone to use. With this much space, everyone in the family can have their own drawer for shoes, or even their own hook to hang a coat or bag on.
Entry #3
This is a more common sized entry way. While there isn’t anything super unique about it, we were sure to add an elegant light fixture right about the door to identify the entry way. If the homeowners put in some furniture that creates a division, it’s the perfect size. A large couch or accent table can add the right touch.
Entry #4
Creating a modern and functional space was our goal with this home. We brought in the built-ins to ensure we gave the homeowners the maximum storage possible. The challenge here was making the cabinets thin enough that it wasn’t intruding the walkway. As you can see, they have a walkway from the door behind the couch; luckily, we were able to work with the space and it turned out great!
Entry #5
One last entry to show off! We love how this one turned out. The arched doorway and simple lighting creates an inviting and cozy space to walk in to. The simple pictures added to the walls dresses up the space without over-crowding it.
Well, what do you think? Entry ways are important; it’s the first thing everyone sees. Make it something that represents you while also creating an inviting space. Hopefully you got some great ideas for your home!
